History

Origins

The club was founded in 1934 in the White District known for its white buildings. The club initially competed with other local teams such as Malibox Street and Malibox Sea, which are currently in the 3rd Division. The best club from Maliblox City was the Maliblox Football Team, which beat the rest of the teams many times. From 1937 to 1954, there was the Maliblox League in Maliblox City, in which teams from the provinces of Malibox City and South Maliblox took part. First place was consistently occupied by the Maliblox Football Team, which took part in the Island Championships, playing against clubs from Tamabu, Kohola, Aloha, Hilo and Aqualia. In 1942, 1944, 1947 and 1953 the Maliblox Gold club took 2nd place in the league, and in 1947 it was nominated to take part in the Island Championships. The club got to the semi-finals and lost the match against Maliblox Football Team with a score of 4-0 for the opponent. Maliblox Gold took fourth place.

In 1954, when the TFL (Telamon Islands Football League) was formed, Maliblox Gold was placed in the 3rd Division, above Maliblox Street and Maliblox Sea, who were in the 4th Division, but below the Maliblox Football Team in the 1st Division. In 1955, Kumua Kapu became the club's coach. It led to promotion to the 2nd Division in 1956 and then to the 1st Division in 1960. Until 1964, Maliblox Gold and Maliblox Football Team played in the same league until the other team was relegated to the 2nd Division. Over time, the club from Maliblox City became famous and began to be nicknamed "dorado". In 1967, the club reached the podium for the first time in the Telamon Islands Cup. It took 2nd place. After this event, Kumua Kapu left the band and started working with a new club in Romarkia.

1970s

In the 1970s, the club did not win any titles after winning the league in 1975 and 3rd place in the Telamon Islands Cup in 1972, 1974 and 1977.

Gold years

The golden years of Maliblox Gold undoubtedly began with the 1981/82 season, when a new coach from Eurobloxia, Stephen Jalson, joined the team. After a successful season but being eliminated from the Telamon Islands Cup in the quarterfinals, the next season was in doubt. In 1983, the club took 5th place in the league and won the cup final against Kohola FC with a score of 5-3 on penalties after a goalless draw. In 1984, Maliblox Gold took 2nd place in the league and cup. The following year, Stephen Jalson led the team to 2nd place in the league and a cup victory. In 1986, Maliblox Gold was 1st in the league but only 4th in the cup. In 1987, Maliblox Gold won the cup and league, becoming champions for the third time. In the years 1987-1994 the team constantly took first place in both the league and the cup. In 1995 and 1996 the team suffered a slight decline when they were eliminated from the cup, but in 1998 the team took part in the cup spectacularly, playing against Labu FC and winning the title after a score of 9-8 in penalties which were awarded after the score was 3-3. Stephen Jalson left the team after the 1997/98 season due to old age. He managed to make Maliblox Gold the champion of the Telamon Islands 11 times. With the 21st century, greater exposure of the club's brand began. The team won the championship title in 2001, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2017. In the remaining years it was on the podium, excluding 1999, 2013 and 2020.
