Madison Megalopolis (Robloxian pronunciation: ma-duh-sn meh-guh-laa-puh-luhs, Bloxia Kingdom pronunciation: ma-duh-sn meh-guh-lo-puh-luhs), formally Megalopolis and County of Madison, is a county-sized megalopolis located in Kionne Republic, Robloxia and serves as the largest city by population and area in Kionne Republic. The population was estimated to be 1,594,000 according to the latest census. It is a middle-class community with isolated pockets of wealthy noble robloxians, known for its middle-class estates with isolated pockets of estates for the wealthy and for the noble, making it a landmark and popular megalopolis to visit on the Big Plains.

What is surprising is that when Madison Megalopolis was founded in the beginning of 2021, it suddenly started to massively increase in population because of two factors: popular demand on living on a megalopolis the size of an average Robloxian county and trying to find a new megalopolis, and by the end of 2021, the population reached 4 million.

Madison Megalopolis surprisingly also does not have any electricity managers nor public transportation; all citizens wanting to live in Madison Megalopolis may choose to manage their own electricity and/or public transportation. It also surprisingly does not identify as belonging into a larger metropolitan area, nor having a motto or any highways connecting to the rest of the state route network in Kionne Republic.

Despite its name containing the dictionary word of “megalopolis”, it is not actually a megalopolis according to the Robloxian census definition on what is a megalopolis (must have 50 million inhabitants or more), but rather a metropolis.

Description:

Surprisingly, Madison Megalopolis boasts only local businesses, one suburb (The Notables), and one exurb named Krezak. There exist public or recreational services, but those are limited in number. All utilities must be managed by individual citizens. In the northwestern part of the megalopolis is a solar field that a future mayor plans to turn on if they are elected mayor.

Transport

Most local transportation is automobiles or walking. Citizens manage their own transportation. A future mayor is planning to bring solar-paneled buses, a solar-paneled metro, and a solar-paneled airport if they are elected mayor.

Government

There is no police department nor megalopolis hall in the megalopolis, ever since citizens have stolen all the funds required for a solar-paneled megalopolis hall and solar-paneled police department to be built. Instead, the focus is on citizens policing other citizens and governing other citizens. There is a future mayor that will plan to fund money to create a solar-paneled police department and a solar-paneled megalopolis hall if they are elected, as well as create a bus stop and a metro stop for the area. The title of the planned bus and metro stop is known as "Madison Megalopolis and County Hall, Police Department, and Center".

Etymology:

The first half of the name Madison Megalopolis is named after Lake Madison, a lake in the exact geometric centroid of the county if it were a planar lamina (i.e. projected onto a two-dimensional map with an x1-axis and an x2-axis, with no x3-axis). The second half comes from the fact that Madison Megalopolis is a megalopolis [you don't say?].

Climate:

Madison Megalopolis is hotter than Brookhaven itself. Due to the megalopolis not being coastal, but rather in the Big Plains, Madison Megalopolis is a victim of natural disasters, such as droughts, dust storms, tornadoes, and flooding. The most frequent natural disaster that occurs is flooding. While most settlements in the Big Plains do experience blizzards, due to the fact that temperatures are on average, above freezing year-round in Madison Megalopolis, blizzards are rare. However, in place of blizzards, Madison Megalopolis experiences what locals dub "rainy blizzards". Rainy blizzards are severe rainstorms with high winds and low visibility. Unlike blizzards, rainy blizzards can occur year-round. Madison Megalopolis's climate is characterized by a semi-arid climate, with severely hot summer days, hot summer nights, warm winter days, and moderate winter nights. Climate data for Madison Megalopolis dates back to January 1, 2021. The average temperature of Madison Megalopolis year-round is a hot 33 degrees Celsius (92 degrees Fahrenheit), which is approximately 24 degrees Celsius (44 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than Brookhaven's average temperature. Meteorologists presume this is due to the water of Lake Madison being heated to temperatures likened to a hot spring. Despite the megalopolis not being coastal, Madison Megalopolis's diurnal temperature differences typically vary between 6 to 11 degrees Celsius (11 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit). The coldest temperature ever recorded in the megalopolis is -57 degrees Celsius (-70 degrees Fahrenheit), recorded in the first half of January 2021 amidst an unearthly severe cold wave.

Flooding:

The most common disaster is flooding. This is when the waters go up two feet (2.177 studs) on average and pose a risk to the levels of the megalopolis below two feet in elevation.

History:

Madison Megalopolis was founded in the beginning of 2021. It suddenly started to massively increase in population because of two factors: popular demand on living on a megalopolis the size of an average Robloxian county and trying to find a new megalopolis, and by the end of 2021, the population reached 4 million.

From June 16, 2024, to June 25, 2024, Madison Megalopolis would start to have a massive population decline (at least 96%, which is approximately 3,84 million Robloxians) due to the pseudo-eruption of the nearby Brookhaven Peak induced by a mid-range ballistic missile (MRBM) fired by the Coffee-Stained Republic that missed its initial target of Brookhaven due to Coeptus II misinterpreting the words Brookhaven and Peek to imply Brookhaven Peak. At most 4% of the former Madison Megalopolitans (0,16 million) survived the pseudo-volcanic eruption, which made their megalopolis the second largest. Seeing that Madison Megalopolis's habitable area had shrunk 96%, and that the Krezak Exurb was destroyed, the Krezak Exurb was moved closer to the town, with all of its infrastructure being built replicas. Subsequently, the megalopolis's former extent has become a county on its own, known as Historic Madison County (primarily to disambiguate it with Madison County in Bloxburg Valley, which contrary to several contributors' beliefs, is not located in Romaryland). Madison Megalopolis is currently undergoing reconstruction, bringing its population to over 1.5 million.

According to Legend:

“Which records does Madison Megalopolis hold, you ask? What a ridiculous question. It holds them all.” -Xboxian Scripture

Legend has it that the son of a wealthy nobleman was the first ever mayor of Madison Megalopolis. His name was Krezak and he spent his days helping the megalopolis dodge responsibilities and chase trouble. That is, until he was asked by some locals to step off the mayor position. The rest is history. Now known as the worst mayor of his generation – if not all time – the citizen's adoration for him being mayor is not as great as his love to govern. Outside of the government, he has earned a reputation for being a bit of a joker, but it has always been harmless fun. One time, he got a crane and peanut butter and proceeded to have fun with it, which led to him being impeached after his fun was harmful. Since then, Madison Megalopolis has never had a mayor, but Krezak said he would like to continue being mayor.

Neighborhoods:

Madison Megalopolis is officially partitioned to two neighborhoods, The Notables and Krezak. The Notables is essentially the downtown part of the megalopolis, while The Krezak is the farthest part of the megalopolis (according to an algorithm that treats neighborhood areas as planar laminas and calculates their geometric centroid, then uses the geodesic distance between geometric centroids to calculate the distance).

Criticism:

Madison Megalopolis has not yet received significant criticism.

Praise:

  • Real estate purchasing is high due to properties being easy to locate.
  • Theft, robbery, racism are small problems. A new mayor, once they are elected, will create a hotline for Robloxians to report thieves, robbers, and racism to the police department. While theft and robbery are usually crimes in cities in Robloxia, this would make the Madison Megalopolis the first ever megalopolis to consider racism a criminal offense if successful. The mayor said that depending on the activity of racism, the punishment for racism will range from being treated as a theft or a robbery to the maximum penalty permitted by state law.
