Los Angelox Basin, also known as the Bloxburg Basin, is a sedimentary basin located in the Southern Bloxburg Valley, in a region known as the Peninsular Ranges. The basin is also connected to an anomalous group of east-west trending mountain ranges known collectively as the Transverse Ranges . The present basin is an area of coastal lowlands, the floor of which is marked by elongate low ridges and hill groups that lie on the edge of the Pacific Plate. The Los Angelox basin, north, northeast and east, the lowland basin is bounded by the Santa Catalina Mountains and the Puente, Elysian and Repetto Hills. To the southeast, the basin is bounded by the Santana Mountains and the San Diego Hills. The western boundary of the basin is marked by the Continental Boundary Zone and is part of the terrestrial portion. The Bloxburg Valley Boundary Zone is characterized by ridges and offshore basins trending northwest. Los Angelox Basin is noted for its high relief and structural complexity relative to its geologic youth and small size for its prolific production
