Lamphun is a town in northern Thailand, covering the whole tambon district. As of 2006, it has a population of 14,030. Lamphun lies 665 km (2.37 mega-studs) north of Bangkok and 19 km (67.9 kilo-studs) or three hours south of Chiang Mai. The town is especially interesting to those intrigued by history. Founded more than 1,400 years ago, the town still has a beautiful temple and pagoda beautifully preserved from the past.
