Jailbreak (TV series)

Jailbreak is an animated crime television series created by Christopher Harrison and produced by Brightmyth Film Studios that premiered in the United States on AAK Network on October 5, 2024, and was adapted into Spanish, which began airing on Robloxian Educational Television on February 7, 2025. It is based on the video game of the same name and adopted source material from Criminal Underworld, a live-action crime series; the show serves as a part of the Jailbreak series. Like in the game, it follows two characters, Carlie Richardson and Leandro Bentley, as they develop their own criminal empire while evading detection by the police, protecting their romance, and attempting to survive together.

The animated show is divided into two consecutive series, totaling 290+ episodes and 4 seasons. The first series is based on the video game's narrative, however the second is considerably more original, since it does not adapt the second plot, instead focusing on Carlie and Lenadro's travels. Production on the animated series began in January 2024, with Christopher serving as showrunner and introducing the concept for a program based on the video game Jailbreak. Most of the production team, who worked on the video game, returned to develop the series.

The Jailbreak animated series, since its debut, was met with a positive reception from television critics, audiences and fans of the video game. Praise were directed at the animation, writing, character development and respect toward the original source material. The Spanish dub was met with a similar reception and the series was dubbed for over 100+ countries, which contributed to its further success as a television show and the video game as a whole. The series officially ended after five years in 2029.

Premise

The Jailbreak animated series is set in the geographically distinct cities of Breudburgh, Glison, and Ozhufling. The first series of the series is focused on Carlie Richardson and Leandro Bentley, two people with the potential to be the most powerful and deadly people in the planet. After that, they start their own criminal enterprise, which over a few years becomes the most powerful criminal empire in the world, all the while keeping their personal promise to become the strongest people, while avoiding police notice, preserving their passion, and striving to survive together. The second series is centered on the adventures of the two characters and introduced several cast of characters, who appeared in the video game.
