Howell Green (May 1, 1771 — August 10, 1830) was the mayor of Brookhaven Side Town and he also founded a few towns in the Madison County which include Brookhaven Side Town in 1792 and Havenford in 1794. He was a major figure of the county.

Howell was the son of William Green Potts and Jen Smith. He had a daughter named Maria Theresa Potts and a son, Robert Green.
