Highway 85 is a highway that encircles Blockfield. It has two spur routes, namely, Ro-Route 385 and Interblox 385. The highway was moved a little and was expanded in 2001.
History
As a deferred Interblox
Interblox 85 was deferred in the 1950s as the creation of this Interblox would mostly be a bridge crossing over the Bloxington Ocean. During the deferment, Interblox 85's plan moved to Blockfield. The Interblox was fully built and opened on May 15, 1955.
As a functional Interblox (1955-1987)
Interblox 85 encircles Blockfield. During this time period, an spur route of Interblox 85 was created and numbered Interblox 385.
Demotion of Interblox 85 from Interblox to Ro-Route (1985 - 1987)
When the Robloxian Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (RASHTO) traveled on this Interblox, they realized while this Interblox did not meet construction requirements for it to be an Interblox, it met construction requirements for it to be an Ro-Route. They then contacted The Robloxian Highway Administration to see if Interblox 85 had retrieved a waiver from them, to which the Robloxian Highway Administration said no. As a consequence, they told Blockfield to demote Interblox 85 to Ro-Route 85. Blockfield strongly supported the demotion, and on an unknown date, the Interblox was demoted to a Ro-Route.
As a Ro-Route (1987-2001)
Ro-Route 85 follows the original routing of Interblox 85 prior to its demotion from Interblox. During this time period, an spur route of Ro-Route 85 was created and numbered Ro-Route 385.
Further Demotion of Ro-Route 85 from Ro-Route to Highway (1998 - 2001)
When the Robloxian Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (RASHTO) traveled on this Ro-Route, they realized this Ro-Route did not meet construction requirements for it to be a Ro-Route, citing urban development. They then contacted The Robloxian Highway Administration to see if Ro-Route 85 had retrieved a waiver from them, to which the Robloxian Highway Administration said no. As a consequence, they told Blockfield to demote Ro-Route 85 further to Highway 85. Blockfield supported the demotion, but not as strongly as it did on the prior demotion, with opposition calling for "NO MORE DEMOTIONS", and on an unknown date, the Ro-Route was demoted to a highway. Fortunately, Ro-Route 385 and Interblox 385 both did not catch the eyes of the RASHTO, and hence kept its Ro-Route and Interblox statuses, respectively. The 4 lane new road started to construct in May 24, 1999, and was built and opened on October 16, 2001.
As a Highway (2001-present)
After the expansion, Highway 85 follows the original routing of Ro-Route 85 prior to its demotion from Ro-Route.
