History
13th century
In the 1200s, the islands were first discovered and inhabited by Polybloxian sailors that landed and spread throughout the East Eye and Eyebrow. It is believed that they thought the islands were super hip, and that Robloxians should check them out, so called them Keco'o walino, which means Check It Islands in their native tongue.
14th century
Ro-Palau discovered the islands, and conquered them in the Keco'o war, which lasted seven months and killed at least 300 robloxians. Hip City was founded in 1398, and originally known as Hikiwahi, which translates to "The Hippest Town". It quickly became a large trading hub for countries in Aquaria.
16th century
Luobese missionaries discovered the islands in 1564. The missionaries taught the locals Duckism, which was the popular religion in Luobo at the time, taught the locals Luobese, and how to farm rice. Later, lots of Luobese robloxians immigrated to the island for agricultural work.
19th century

In 1843, Robert Felps, an explorer from Bloxland, accidently discovered the islands while trying to find new trading paths to Bloxasia (modern day Baoji). He reported his findings to Queen Bricktoria, and began a mission to conquer the islands. In 1844, the islands were once again found and were successfully taken over by Bloxland from Ro-Palau in the Hikiwahi War, which lasted a year and killed at least 2,000 robloxians. The islands became a territory of the Bloxia kingdom and was renamed to The Check It Islands after the islands resembled a Check It face on a Robloxian's head.
In the 1860s and 1870s multiple laws were instituted to restrict the rights and freedoms of the indigenous population, which were referred to as "Hikis". Some of these laws included The Polybloxians act of 1877, which said that the native population were restricted to living in goverment designated slums, where basic services such as healthcare were almost non-existent, the act also banned all natives from owning private business, be in a relationship with robloxians of Caucasian descent, or vote in elections.

20th century
In 1940, an airport and naval base was built in Bloxmai to help the Bloxia kingdom fight against the Axis Powers in the Eastern Telamon Sea. In 1942, the airport and naval base were bombed by Axis Powers, killing 398 Bloxia Kingdom soldiers, as well as 198 civilians. It was the deadliest attack in the Eastern Telamon Sea during WW2.
During the early 1960s, the laws to restrict the freedoms and rights of the indigenous had little to no change, causing mass protests all across the country. These protests were not met with civilty by the Colonial government, and police and military forces were mobilized, and later authorized to use lethal force againts the protesters. This would lead to the infamous Hikiwahi Shooting of 1964, where on March 1st 1964, during a peaceful protest aimed to hopefully repeal The Polybloxians act of 1877, military forces were deployed and shot at the protesters, killing 18 and injuring 64. This event was met with Robloxwide criticism of The Bloxia Kingdom, who initially tried to deny and downplay the situation. In 1970, after mounting pressure from the international community, The Bloxia Kingdom formally apologized for the shooting, and soon, after negotiations with Indigenous leaders, repealed all laws made to restrict the rights and freedoms of the indigenous robloxians.
In the 1990s, an independence movement was started, to gain independence from the Bloxia Kingdom because they were "too cool 4 Bloxland". A referendum was held in 1999, which showed that over 90% of the territory wanted independence.

In 2008, an agreement was made between the Bloxia Kingdom, and Check It Islands, to give The Check It Republic independence someday in 2009. The Check It Islands declared independence from the Bloxia Kingdom on January 14, 2009, and seceded from the Bloxia Kingdom.
Prior to March 25, 2009, a passport was required to visit the republic. The passport could have been purchased for four Robux in Robloxian avatar shops before the passport law was repealed on March 25, 2009.
The first national election was held in June 2009, and Zackthecollest2007 became the first prime minister of the Check It Islands.
On November 26th, 2011, the name of the country was changed from the Check It Islands to the Check It Republic.
In 2013, the Check It Republic became the 57th member of the Bloxia Kingdom Commonwealth.
The latest population census was conducted on October 12, 2019.
On May 19, 2024, a proposal to rename the country to Check It County Republic failed to be approved simply because it had a typographical error, though if the typographical errors were fixed, the country could possibly rename itself to that.
