F3X Building Tools (grandiloquently, Building Tools by F3X) (or F3X or BTools for short) is a widely known building set invented by GigsD4X in 2015 aimed at advanced architects. The set contains 14 default tools for creating, editing, and deleting parts in cities. Each tool has its own purpose, which allows for a lot of customization when used. The 4 most used tools are Move, Resize, Rotate, and Color. The set is essentially a box that is a 28cm x 28cm x 28cm cube with the logo on each face. Robloxian architects like to hold the box when they use the tools, for easy configuration later. When all the tools are in the box, the box turns black. When one tool is out of the box, it turns a different color and the box closes to prevent multiple tools from being used at a time.
There is a manual guide included in the tools, which teaches architects how to use the tools.
The set is used heavily in city construction. The set has other tools like the Mesh, Decal/Texture, Surfacing, and others. The tools are known to modify the Lua Script.
Tools
Commonly used:
Move
The move tool allows the architect to move the selected objects in any direction. On the side menu of the cube, the architect can customize the increment used, and the axes to be used (Local, Global, or Last).
Resize
The resize tool allows the architect to resize the selected objects in any direction. On the side menu of the cube, the architect can customize the increment used, and whether or not the part will be expanded in both directions.
Rotate
The rotate tool allows the architect to rotate the selected objects in any direction. On the side menu, the user can customize the increment used, and the pivotal point (Center, Local, or Last).
Color/Paint
The color tool allows the architect to select a color from all the 16,777,216 colors in the Robloxian universe, or 132 colors that are named. The user can then paint.
Uncommonly used:
Surface
The surface tool allows the architect to change the surface type of all or specific sides of the selected parts.
Material
The material tool allows the architect to change the material, transparency, and reflection of the selected parts.
Anchor
The anchor tool allows the architect to set whether or not the selected parts are anchored.
Collision
The collision tool allows the architect to set whether or not the selected parts can collide with other parts.
New Part
The new part tool creates a new part. Architects can use it to create normal parts, trusses, wedges, corners, cylinders, balls, seats, vehicle seats, and spawn points.
Mesh
The mesh tool allows the architect to add a mesh to selected parts. If the set is connected to the Robloxian Internet, the tool here will automatically find the correct mesh. Otherwise, a mesh would need to be created from scratch.
Decal/Texture
The texture tool allows the architect to add a decal or texture to selected parts. The decal/texture can be created on any face. If the set is connected to the Robloxian Internet, the tool here will automatically find the correct decal/texture. Otherwise, a decal/texture would need to be created from scratch.
Weld
The weld tool allows the architect to weld two or more parts together, keeping their relative distance the same but the parts move together.
Lighting
The lighting tool allows the architect to add a spot light, point light, and/or surface light to the selected parts, and can be customized fully.
Decorate
The decorate tool allows the architect to add smoke, fire, and/or sparkles to the selected parts, and can be customized fully.
Exporting/Importing
F3X provides the ability to export city builds and import them through a special plugin. When the architect presses the export button on the set, the model is analyzed by a website ( will not work if the set is not connected to the Robloxian internet ), where a code is sent back which allows the model to be imported later.
