Devin Jack Erickson (born October 17, 1991) is a Robloxian animator, director, producer and writer known for various of his works such as Break In (2019), Forest Survival (2019), The Thing (2020), Break In 2 (2020). He was also known for his contribution for the television series, Lost in The Galaxy (2017 — 2021) as helping in writing some of the episodes. Devin had made several films ending up as a major success during the years of 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. He had started to gain reputation after his film, Beyond The Mountains (2017).
Early Life and Education
Devin Jack Erickson was born on October 17, 1991 at Seaboard City, North Bloxlina. He was born at St Bloxander Board Hospital and was raised in a suburban house in a small quiet neighborhood, however not too far from a shopping center. His father, Ronald Erickson, was an architect and his mother, Mary Erickson, was a housewife. Devin had grew up with a strong interest of writing and drawing. He would also often write a few small stories along with some illustrations and he would show others them.
As Devin reached seven, by then, his interest of drawing and writing slowly shifted into creating films. He was inspired by a variety of shows that he had watched as a child on the television. He would often quickly turn it on after reaching home. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Devin often read comics and novels which he bought from a nearby store until he had turned twelve in 2003, due to the store eventually shutting down. In 2004, Devin had joined a story competition which he had put hard work and interest onto resulting him on winning the competition.
Life and Career
In 2013, Devin had started his career as an animator and had been self employed. He had created a few short animated films using various softwares and had made his written stories come to life, animated. A few months later, as December approached, Devin started working as a writer for certain films and signed a short contract with Bloxica Films in order to help in writing a few short films till February 2014.
In 2014, Erickson co-founded a small animation studio called PixellyMovements along with his college friend, Ethan Harrison. The studio’s aim was on creating original animated content for online platforms. Under PixelMotion, Devin and his team produced numerous of short animations that gained popularity on video sharing platforms like BloxTube. One of their early successes was The Adventure Across The Horizon (2014), a small intriguing series based on a post apocalypse world, inspired by an earlier film, After The Day (2012). The series had received a large amount of positive reviews and was quite popular.
Devin Erickson's major breakthrough came with the release of Break In in 2019. The animated film, produced by PixellyMovements. The film revolved around the story of a group of friends who team up and survive a purge where there were many thieves. The film was a mix of action, horror, and adventure. Devin had signed a contract with several others and voice actors in order to make the film and it was produced by the help of Bloxica Films.
Following the success of Break In, Devin continued to work on numerous of projects, expanding his career as a director, animator, and producer. In 2020, he released break In 2, which was a spin-off of Break In. The film too became a wide success across the nation and worldwide.
In 2022, Devin developed and produced the animated series Friend Pals (2022 — 2024), which revolved around the adventures of a group of friends who got stuck in the virtual world. The show was an instant hit and gained wide prominence among younger audiences and teens, and its success inspired Devin to make multiple seasons and a huge fanbase, in fandom. The series was known for its good animation style, intirguing storylines, and it was appealing to both adults and kids.
As his career continued, Devin had also wrote several books for films and helped produce. Around the late 2023, he produced a documentary titled Animating Dreams, which showed the journey of animators, the challenges they faced, and how animations worked. The documentary consisted of both animation, and real life acting. In May 2024, he had published his first book, One Movement, which was an intriguing story made on an animator's journey, including Devin's journey from childhood. The book became quite popular and prominent, and had gotten many positive reviews.
