Daters (colloquially: Ders) are Robloxians who date. While dating is strongly encouraged by various other countries, dating is against the law in Robloxia since March 23, 2004, and anyone who participates in said activities risks punishment, according to the amendment. Despite this, dating in Robloxia is still assumed to be widespread by some Robloxians.

Throughout Robloxia's development since March 23, 2004, multiple stereotypes have formed regarding daters. Robloxians often stereotype daters as those who are dressed as aesthetically or 'trendy' as possible; certain accessories and clothing are stereotyped as 'Der items'. Robloxians who wear these items are often perceived as daters, even if they are far from the actual definition.

Motive:

On Robloxia, dating is usually restricted to populated areas. It is quite dangerous, since Robloxians can be hunted by predators.

In some instances, personal information may also be exchanged. In television, the Community Sift Amendment is designed to prevent this by censoring most methods of sharing information (such as censoring numbers) that can be used to identify oneself. However, daters may attempt to find ways around this by altering their words or by requesting that the other party communicates with them outside of a populated area.

Criticism:

Against Dating

Dating, according to most Robloxians, is a problem on Robloxia. It is unwanted by most in Robloxia and encouraged by very few Robloxians as:

  • It is against the law.
  • Many Robloxians view it as two children of different ages who know nothing about the dangers of such actions, and there is the possibility of older Robloxians attempting to online date these kids.
  • Most of Robloxia views being attracted to Robloxians as bizarre and repulsive due to their blocky and unique appearance.
  • Some daters perform sexual acts that younger kids don't understand and may imitate. Some older Robloxians and predators probably are willing to do these acts with said children.

Aside from not fitting in with the kid-friendly nature of Robloxia, there are risks associated with dating given the anonymity on Robloxia (for example, some daters are Robloxians trying to catfish others or child predators that are looking to prey on children). Many Bloxtubers and prominent community members are against online dating.

Against vigilante approach to daters

On the other hand, some Robloxians have criticized Robloxians who argue about this topic. While it is universally agreed across Robloxia that Robloxia is not a place to form romantic relationships, this side of the argument believes the issue is heavily exaggerated and melodramatic. They feel that most instances rarely ever escalate and that the chances of actual predators being present are significantly lower than some make it out to be. Additionally, the stereotyping of certain accessories and other cosmetic items as "Der items" is seen as immature and shortsighted, and that it often leads to more bullying, harassment, and overall harm as opposed to good. It is widely believed that these vigilantes pressured Robloxia to pass an amendment without prior proposal or ratification regarding dating.

Areas Daters Often Frequent:

Though builders are not allowed to construct areas of romantic go-togethers, there are some loopholes to this rule, though an area may not be intended to be used romantically. Such examples of common dating hotspots include cities, nightclubs, middle schools, high schools, and colleges.

Nightclubs are prone to daters and Robloxians who wish to engage in lewd or otherwise inappropriate acts in Robloxia. For hotspots that might hint at dating potential, mayors, owners, and principals might often give their cities, nightclubs, and schools vague names to 'satisfy' Robloxia's policies regarding area creation. Those vague names imply that some sexual acts could be performed in those areas that could violate the policies regarding area creation in Robloxia. In observed instances, all cities, nightclubs, and schools that were not closed by the Robloxian government had no sexual acts and did not imply any lewd content within the area and were allowed. It is possible for a city to become a dating hotspot and be on the front page of the government's area page. Eventually, as more and more Robloxians report the area for being a dating hotspot, the city can be taken off the government's area page and closed off.

Some Robloxian cities, nightclubs, and schools have so many problems with dating that they have gone far to including their own anti-dating rules in their respective areas, which would reprimand if Robloxians spoke words that could hint at dating potential.

The Exile of Tremity and Games_Page

On December 6, 2017, Tremity and his alternate alias Games_Page were exiled. A day later, Robloxians who joined his city were teleported to a copied version of the city. A few hours after that, the Robloxia government demolished the city, both the original and the copied. The action of the Robloxia government received praise from both anti-Ders and other players, as they believe it could be a sign of Robloxia taking action to prevent dating. He attempted to make a return on the alias RipTremityZero in July 2018, however he was quickly exiled.

Bloxtubers and Anti Dating

Many popular Roblox Bloxtubers attempt to disrupt daters by trolling them with methods such as aiming to cause drama between them by intentionally starting arguments or being irritating, however not all of the time. For certain Bloxtubers like mrflimflam, these videos used to serve as one of their main types of content.
