He was born in 1834 in Hudarinha. During his life, in addition to being a politician and president of Altavéria, he was a doctor and aviator. He also had four children (one from his first wife, Amélia Franco, and three from his second wife, Silva Belchior). Before his death, reports say that he weighed more than 90 kilos (overweight for his height). He died while having dinner; the cause was a heart attack.
