Not to be confused with Crossroadsia.

Crossroads is a classic Robloxian area developed by early Robloxia government members on May 1, 2007, but was marked as owned by the president. Crossroads contains several common weapons, like swords and rocket launchers.

In December 2009, Crossroads received so much snow that the entire place was like a winter wonderland. The snow did not melt until approximately two months after Christmas. Many of the structures in the area were stolen from another Robloxia government member's area known as "My first Robloxia area.".

In July 2011, Crossroads added a new teleporter, principally to promote the new teleportation transportation. The area typically receives 12,000 visits per week. This used to be the most famous area created by the president, but now it is overtaken by "Welcome to Robloxian building", which receives around ten times as much as visits as Crossroads had. On November 1, 2012, a former government employee, Games, created a remake of the area named Robloxian Battle. The Robloxian government on an unknown day on November 2012 decided to release the area to the public domain.

In 2014, Crossroad's tourism peaked and since then has waned; the area had 0-10 Robloxians visiting the area. The area in September 12, 2017 was closed entirely to tourism for two weeks.

As of May 5, 2019, the area has revamped its billboard and at peak tourism, has 25 Robloxians visiting the area. The second remastered version, called the Temple of Brick Battle, has become more popular, earning several million visits.

Area Information

There is no specific objective of the area, although Robloxians have been using it as a free-for-all arena.

The weapons available include:

  • Sword: A sword that is good for very close ranges.
  • Rocket Launcher: Fires slow rockets that can instantly kill a player or destroy their limbs. It can also destroy buildings.
  • Bomb: Detonates after a few seconds that can instantly kill a player or destroy buildings.
  • Slingshot: A weapon that fires slingshot balls and has fast reload time. Great at close range.
  • Superball: Can be thrown at ridiculous speeds to greatly injure a player and knock them down.
  • Trowel: Not necessarily a weapon per se, but it can create a wall to block Superballs, Bombs, and Rockets. It can also be used to help climb places.
  • Paintball Gun: Can shoot paintballs for damage and to paint blocks.

The area is divided into four sub-areas: the Blackrock Castle, the Thieves' Den, the Lost Temple, and the Tower. Each of these sub-areas has a team beacon, which if touched, will either heal the Robloxian and color their torso and legs or kill the Robloxian if they have touched another beacon. All four areas regenerate for a certain amount of time.

History

The original version of Crossroads was created by Shedletsky in 2006. It was in four sections:

  • Tower: A simple, five-story tower with a walkway nearby to the Castle and another walkway that can go to the Building Area. The "castle" part of the section was partially taken from the lost 2005 area named "King Arthur's Castle".
  • Hospital:  A clinic with a classic playground set that would later be used in the Happy Home in Robloxia.
  • Building Area: A brick palette in five different colors to build with.
  • Castle:  A castle gate with two towers.

Team modes were later added, but never had any real function. The area was thus never considered to be a team area, even after proper teams were added. The area's ownership was transferred to the President on 2007, when every area except for its Tower were demolished and revamped to new sub-areas:

  • Blackrock Castle: A whole castle instead of a castle gate, with an underground section.
  • Thieves' Den: An underground hovel inside a mountain with a bridge and a walkway to the Lost Temple.
  • Lost Temple: A temple with a tower and an underground section. It has a walkway with a lava spinner.
  • Tower: The tower from the original version, now with a trampoline next to it and the ramped walkway goes all the way to Blackrock Castle.

During the Disney XD promotion in 2010, Crossroads was demolished to make way for a Disney XD skating place, causing great panic and anger among Robloxia's citizens. Fortunately, great panic and anger subsided as the area later returned when the Disney XD promotion ended.

Trivia

  • It was intended to be a team-based area. However, the team concept was not introduced until 2007.
  • Crossroads formerly was one of the most heavily terrorized areas on Robloxia. Terrorists usually would generate anomalies that would not typically belong to the area, such as random colors appearing on the area or an orb for manipulating the area, which indicated that the area with said items has been terrorized. In 2017, terrorism appears to be mitigated, though newer ways to terrorize may have sprouted up.
  • Crossroads is one of the oldest areas to exist on Robloxia.
  • The modern version of the area was created sometime in March 2010; this version of Crossroads was meant to represent the original, "true" vision one Robloxian government member had.
