Cradles and Crayons Daycare was an daycare center that was located in Roudenaarde, Dush Gaul Republic, it operated for 20 years, first opening in 2000, in 2022, it had to close permanetly because there was an case of child abuse
History
When it first opened, everything was fine, but in 2011, there were starting to be complaints about rude behaviour and neglect, mostly by the supervisor of the daycare center, who is said to be: Renee Dhaenens! 3 employees left the center, those complaints continued in 2012 and 2013, but on 8th October 2013 there were no more complaints
Starting in September 2021, there has been complaints again, and this time the case was child abuse, The supervisor would push the children's head's in the toilet and flush it if they misbehaved during the toliet break, from even force feeding the children violently, from biting them, 2 employees annouced it to the police, there were inspectors inside the daycare, but there was no case, the supervisor and her mother, and 2 sisters were irrogated, in October 2021, there were cameras hanging around, so the police could see if there were any case of abuse, but they didnt saw it, in January 2022 the case was dismissed
In November 2022, The daycare was closed forever by the Growing Up Agency because the safety of children was at risk, the supervisor heard this and thought she had nothing done wrong, on one side, some parents were sad, because their kids were always nice there, they didnt believe the complaints, and their kids didnt come home with bruises, and on the other side, some parents are happy that it closed
On 20th February 2023, the building was put for sale, and in January 2024, two friends Daisy and Jessica bought it and made it into their own daycare called "Les Petits Filous", of course they had nothing to do with the former supervisor or with the former daycare itself
Some of the complaints when Cradles and Crayons Daycare was still open:
- Children who dare to sit with their hands in the toilet are pushed with their heads into the toilet and the toilet is flushed.
- The supervisor clearly has her favorites and they get their way, others are treated severely and therefore cry all day. Those who cry are left in bed.
- Leftovers are often given out as a meal. Friday's food will be served again on Monday.
- A child who demands too much attention is put in a cold bath.
- The supervisor pulls the children's heads back, pushes the food down the throat, to the point of gagging.
- The children should drink a cup of water after eating. If they do not do this, the water is poured over their heads.
- A little girl has a blue-black jaw. The daycare claims she fell, but there are finger prints in her cheek.
- The children are trembling when they see the counselor. When she shouts "Who's in charge here?" the children answer her name.
- Naughty children end up in the cold outside or are left in their dining chair in the hallway.
- The supervisor bites the children herself if they bite other children
- The supervisor stands on the belly of crying children with her foot if they didn't stop crying
- Before the children can eat, they need to wash their hands with no talking, anyone who does talk when washing their hands, is put with their hands in the oven
- If children is cussing or swearing during meal time, there will hot soup spilled on them and they will be put in bed
