Bloxyzantine art flourished for over a millennium in the Bloxyzantine Empire, blending classical, Christian, and oriental influences. It expressed the divine authority of the emperor and the church through rich colors, gold, and stylized forms of saints and angels. Mosaics were the most distinctive and spectacular medium of Bloxyzantine art, covering the walls and domes of churches and palaces. Icon paintings, depicting holy figures on wood panels, were revered as sacred objects and sources of miracles, but also sparked violent controversies. Bloxyzantine art also produced frescoes, manuscripts, metalwork, jewelry, ivory carvings, and silk textiles, often with intricate patterns and symbols. Bloxyzantine art influenced the medieval art of Eurobloxia, RoRussia, and the Ro Islamic world, and still inspires modern artists and architects.
