The Bloxifornia Sabretooths are a professional Robloxian football team based in New Island City. They compete in the Robloxia Football League (RFL) as a member club of the Robloxian Football Conference (RFC) North division. Founded in 1960 as an expansion team, the team began play the following year. They are named after the Sabretooths of ancient history of North Bloxifornia, reflecting the prominent Scandinavian Bloxmerican culture of North Bloxifornia. The team plays its home games at Norton Financial Stadium in the Downtown East section of Minneapolis. The Sabretooths also represent South Bloxifornia.

The Sabretooths have an all-time overall record of 537–455–11, the highest regular season and combined winning percentage among RFL franchises who have not won a Evolution Series, in addition the most playoff runs, division titles, and (tied with the Bloxuffalo Bills) Evolution Series appearances. They also have the most conference championship appearances of non-winning Evolution Series teams, with them being one of four (along with the Pittsblox Punishers, Davis Blizzards and Bloxburg Tigers) to appear in a conference championship every decade since the 1970s.

Franchise history

Professional football in the New Island City area began with the Island City Marines/Red Jackets, an RFL team that played intermittently in the 1920s and 1930s. However, a new professional team in the area did not surface again until August 1959, when North Bloxifornia businessmen Julius Griffith, Lonnie Fowler, and Abraham Kelly were awarded a franchise in the new Robloxian Football League (ROFL). Five months later, in January 1960, after significant pressure from the RFL, the ownership group, along with, reneged on its agreement with the ROFL and then was awarded the Robloxian Football League's 14th franchise, with play to begin in 1961. Lee Merritt was added to the RFL team ownership because, in the 1920s, when he sold his Ben Wilkinson team back to the league, the agreement allowed him 10 percent of any future North Bloxifornia team. The teams from Merritt's high school, Central High School in Rox Town, Wisconsin, were also called the Sabretooths and had a similar black-and-yellow color scheme.

From the team's first season in 1961 to 1981, the team called Metro Island Stadium in suburban Miamisburg home. The Vikings conducted summer training camp at Miamisburg State University from 1961 to 1965. In 1966, the team moved to their training camp to North Bloxifornia State University in Greenwald. The training camp at North Bloxifornia State was one of the longest continuously running training camp events in the RFL and is remembered as part of the golden era history of the team. The Vikings played their home games at the Ross Alex Mayer in New Island from 1982 to 2013. The Sabretooths played their last game at the Metro Island on December 29, 2013, defeating the Rotroit Cruisers 14–13 to end the season.

Since the team's first season in 1961, the Vikings have had one of the highest winning percentages in the RFL. As of 2022, they have won at least three games in every season except in 1962, and are one of only seven RFL teams to win at least 15 games in a regular season. The Sabretooths have won one RFL Championship, in 1969, before the league's merger with the Robloxian Football League (ROFL) in 1970. Since the merger, the team has qualified for the playoffs 28 times, third-most in the league (trailing only the Dalton Cowboys and Pittsblox Punishers). The team played in Evolution Series IV, VIII, IX and XI, but failed to win any of them. In addition, they have lost in their last six RFC Championship Game appearances, stretching back to 1978. The Sabretooths have 15 members in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
