Etymology
The name "Bloxhicago" originates from a word from a native language, “Bloshikwa”. The word also was meant for pronouncing a local plant, Bloshwa, that grew abundantly near the Bloxhicago River. This led to the name being applied to the area by indigenous peoples. Rogaulian explorers adopted the name, spelling it in various ways like "Bleceugou," and it eventually evolved into the modern "Bloxhicago".
