Bay View

Bay View is a seaside town in Bloxadi, Robloxia. The population was 46,400 people from the 2024 census, becoming the second largest town in the state.

History

Background

Bloxland established numerous provinces to serve as armament storage and as a refuge during the War of Independence (1812–1815) between the major city of Bloxburg and the newly established Brookhaven. This region fortuitously became known in 1815 as the Bloxadi Archipelago. Rhyles the Great of the Kingdom of Bloxland, was sent on an expedition to assess the island's capacity to support life. Upon the discovery of this serene and picturesque island, a lengthy and tumultuous history unfolded. The protracted conflict between Bloxburg and the viceroyalty concluded in 1799, without involving Bay View in the hostilities. To acquire more vessels and settlers, Rhyles the Great journeyed to the mainland.

He returned the inhabitants to Angleox Island, the former name of Bay View. The establishment of a small community took four years to complete, with a reported population of 320 individuals at that time. The significant emigration from the Kingdom of Bloxburg to Angelox Island between 1804 and 1808 prompted Korblox II to seek its reclamation. Ironically, while Rhyles the Great was actively establishing numerous settlements, he penned and submitted the Angelox Declaration of Independence to Korblox II. In 1810, Korblox II dispatched a contingent to Angelox with orders to instigate destruction in an effort to intimidate the local populace into submission. The Republic of Redcliff possessed a formidable army and navy, which had ongoing issues with the Kingdom of Bloxburg, leading them to agree to this course of action.

On November 21, 1815, they submitted to Angelox and continued their conflict, which would conclude in 1821, as their numbers were insufficient to confront Redcliff and Brookhaven alongside Angelox due to the ongoing struggle for independence in Bloxburg. Following three years of recovery, Angelox Island was renamed Bay View in tribute to Rhyles' notable wartime remark, "Look at their men. Gaze over the bay's grandeur." The president of Redcliff, Kitachyeon I, assisted Rhyles in formalizing an agreement. The document would later be referred to as the Declaration of Independence from Bay View. Upon receiving it, Korblox II affixed his signature to the document.

Present time

Starting in 1826, the City of Bloxburg allocated financial resources to foster the growth of the emerging economy as an autonomous district. The newly established Articles of Regulations (AOR), which defined the rights and regulations of Bay View, were officially signed. The funds were utilized by Bay View to facilitate the construction of a significant park, a pier, and residential buildings. Later that year, the Bay View flag was created. The newly discovered island was named Gloverbrook. Additional structures were erected, including RobloKreme, Valeriano Pier, and the Main Street Bowling Alley, which was renamed Old Street Bowling Alley and Arcade in 1985. Michael Ford II, one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs in Robloxia, played a pivotal role in Bay View's development by establishing the Bay View International Bank, Bay View Apartments, Bay View Mall, and the Bay View Police Station, which was renamed Sunny Hills Police Department in 1860.

Upon the establishment of Sunny Hills, a considerable number of additional homes were constructed to accommodate incoming settlers. Following the discovery of Sunny Hills, a substantial quantity of new residences was built to support the growing population of the island. The transportation logistics were managed by Alexander Delano Hartman, while Robert J. Canary was responsible for founding the Bay View Post. The arrival of Sunny Hills resulted in an increase in Bay View's population, which rose from 10,000 to 13,760 residents. Starting in 1954, Bay View experienced a second surge in population, welcoming an additional 20,000 newcomers. In 1977, the Bay View International Airport resumed operations after a five-year construction period, enhancing transportation links between Bay View and surrounding cities. In 2008, Augustín J. Ford, a descendant of Michael Ford II, along with Bay View resident Thomas Hamilton, established the Pearl firm, which developed various devices such as the PearlTV, PearlPad, PearlPhone, PearlComputer, PearlPC, and PearlMedical. With an estimated net worth of ⏣146.9 billion ($11.7 billion), he ranks among the wealthiest Robloxians in history and played a pivotal role in ushering in a new era for the citizens of Bay View. In 2016, the Bay View Metro was opened after three years of construction.

Population

In its early years, Bay View had a modest population of approximately 320 individuals. Following the War of Independence, this number rose to an estimated 1,200 residents. The first official census conducted by the Robloxian government took place in 1864. A significant increase in population occurred in 1891, when the number of inhabitants surged by 10,000. In 1954, Bay View experienced another substantial growth, adding 20,000 residents; however, a considerable portion of the Robloxian population departed prior to the 1964 census. By 1964, the total population reached 32,364. Subsequently, it was incorporated into the Articles of Regulations as the 3rd Amendment, mandating a census every decade. Geography and Climate

In the exploration of Bay View, the terrain occupied by Rhyles was predominantly covered in forest, with the exception of the areas adjacent to the bay, which featured flatlands and extensive beaches. As one moved further inland from the coastline, the landscape transitioned into more mountainous regions.

Following significant increases in population, the landscape underwent substantial alterations. Presently, Bay View features a reduced number of trees and a diminished forested area compared to its previous state. The region still encompasses coastal beaches and flatlands, with modified hills situated centrally, and mountains located at the rear. At the heart of the island lies the principal city of Bay View, while Brookstone River is positioned near the opposite end of the island.

Bay View experiences predominantly sunny weather, characterized by a lack of clouds and infrequent rainfall. The sun consistently rises at 6:00 AM and sets at 6:00 PM, irrespective of the date on the calendar. In the summer months, the average daytime temperature reaches 86°F, while the average nighttime temperature is 55°F. Conversely, during the winter season, the average daytime temperature is 58°F, and the average nighttime temperature drops to 36°F.

The peak temperature ever documented in Bay View reached 108° on August 19, 2003. Conversely, the lowest temperature recorded was -12° on February 23, 1912, amidst the Blizzard of 1912, which is recognized as the most severe blizzard to have impacted Robloxia.

In Bay View, the climate is characterized by three primary seasons: winter, summer, and autumn. Although spring is present, it serves primarily as a transitional period between winter and summer. Summer is noted for being the hottest, sunniest, and wettest season in the city. As autumn arrives, temperatures begin to drop, rainfall decreases, and foliage begins to shed from the trees. During winter, snowfall is infrequent due to the relatively mild temperatures compared to other Robloxian cities; however, rain may still occur. The most recent snowfall in Bay View was recorded in 1943.

The annual average precipitation in Bay View is 5 inches, while the average snowfall amounts to 3 inches each year. This climatic pattern can be attributed to Bay View's proximity to the equator.

Transportation

Transportation in Bay View encompasses a variety of modes, including automobiles, boats, helicopters, airplanes, and buses. The vehicle spectrum ranges from luxury cars, such as Bugatti and Lamborghini, to more commonplace models like Ford and Mitsubishi. In addition to automobiles, the area is served by a network of buses, with four designated bus stations located at Sunny Hills, the main city, Gloverbrook, and the Fun Center. These bus stations operate from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. Helicopter services are available at Bay View International Airport and the Sunny Hills Police Department, restricted to police officers, medical personnel, firefighters, the mayor and his security detail, as well as individuals with private helicopters. Unauthorized use of helicopters is deemed illegal without the necessary permits. The region also features yachts for private ownership, alongside fishing boats from neighboring archipelago islands, crude oil tankers, and sailboats. The Bay View Transportation Authority (BTA) manages 27 routes within Bay View and Sunny Hills, with 24 of these routes making stops at the Downtown Transfer Center. Additionally, a tram service operates throughout the downtown area and its adjacent neighborhoods. In 2016, the brand new Bay View Metro opened.

Economy

In 1796, Angelox Island adopted the Bloxbuck (Ɓ), which was the official currency of Bloxland. Following their separation from Bloxland, they introduced their own currency, known as the Bayviewien pound (£). This pound remained in circulation until the conclusion of the Four Years War. After 1866, the Robloxian Federal Government mandated that all states and territories within Robloxia utilize tix as their currency. Since 2004, Robux has been the standard currency in use. Over the years, the value of currency has increased significantly, as evidenced by the price of gas, which was ⏣0.02 in 1924 and has risen to ⏣3.21 in 2024.

In addition to its financial resources, Bay View boasts a diverse economy characterized by income generation and trade. The primary agricultural products cultivated in Bay View include corn, tomatoes, apples, bananas, oranges, and squash. In terms of livestock, the region produces beef, pork, ham, and mutton. The mineral resources available include cobblestone, diorite, and coal. Furthermore, Bay View is rich in precious materials such as gold, silver, diamonds, emeralds, and rubies, which significantly contribute to its wealth. It is also noteworthy that Bay View ranks second in salt production for trade, following Livetopia.

They acquire a variety of fruits and vegetables that they do not cultivate for their income. Additionally, they obtain venison, chicken, and turkey. Their resources also include minerals such as oil and gas, as well as spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, cilantro, and pepper.

Education

In the initial years, Bay View lacked educational institutions. The establishment of the first school, known as the Bay View Education School, occurred in 1903. This institution offered grades 1 through 12, with kindergarten not being introduced until 1934.

Following the Great Blizzard of 1912, the school was rendered inoperative. In 1918, reconstruction of the school commenced after the completion of the fundamental town infrastructure. This institution served as the sole high school in the area. Educational collaboration was established with the Seaboard City schools, which provided education for Robloxians from grades 1 to 8, while Bay View catered to those in grades 9 to 12.

In 1957, numerous educational institutions in Robloxia underwent significant renovations. The former Bay View school was dismantled, leading to the establishment of the current Bay View schools, which include Bay View Elementary, Bay View Middle, and Bay View High.

There are no universities located in Bay View. Students wishing to pursue higher education would need to travel to the capital for college. The high school graduation rate in Bay View stands at 82%, while 15% of individuals have not yet completed the 12th grade. The remaining 3% have not graduated from high school and are predominantly either homeless or residing with others.

Notable Robloxians

Rhyles the Great was born in Bloxland on July 3, 1773, where he spent his formative years. From the age of five, he aspired to become a sailor. Following a mission assigned by Korblox II to locate a site for weapon storage and bunkers, the conclusion of the war rendered the land he had discovered unnecessary. In response, he established a civilization in that area, which would later engage in conflict with Bloxburg. Ultimately, they emerged victorious, and he laid the foundations of Bay View from its very inception. Rhyles passed away on November 21, 1849, due to cardiac arrest. His remains were interred in Bay View Cemetery in 1856, beneath the largest tombstone. He led a remarkable life and is celebrated as the most distinguished individual to have ever inhabited this island.

Kitachyeon I was born on October 3, 1772, into a royal family in the Republic of Redcliff. Her most significant achievement was leading the war against Bloxburg, during which she formed an alliance with Bay View. She commanded the most formidable army of her era, which successfully overcame Bloxburg. Following this victory, she assisted Rhyles in the establishment of Bay View and endorsed the Articles of Regulations, representing both Redcliff and the Bay View Declaration of Independence. She met her untimely demise on July 29, 1853, at the hands of a Bloxburgian assassin wielding a Colt 1849.

Martin Barkly was born and raised in Bay View in the year 1802. He developed a career in politics as he matured. At the age of 25, in 1827, he endorsed the Articles of Regulations pertaining to the Bay View Representation. He succumbed to lung cancer in 1863, at the age of 61.

James Conrad was born in Seaboard City in 1761. At the age of 38, he embarked on a journey to Bay View aboard the SS Bloxtanic. Tragically, the vessel sank off the coast of Bay View in 1799 during its fifth voyage. Out of 280 passengers, he was one of the 115 who survived the disaster. After swimming to shore, he began a new chapter in his life. Throughout his lifetime, he authored numerous books and contributed to the 2nd Article of the AOR. In 1827, he endorsed the AOR under Seaboard Representation. He passed away in 1859 at the age of 98, having lived a remarkable life.

Devon D'Angelo was born in Bloxland on March 19, 1776. In 1794, he witnessed his father depart for war, never to return. The following year, he lost his mother to the flu. Embarking on a new journey, he purchased a ship and set sail in search of unclaimed territory. His efforts led him to discover what would become known as Bay View, arriving just two days prior to Rhyles. Throughout the war, he remained loyal and contributed to the drafting of the Declaration of Independence. Additionally, he signed the Articles of Regulations representing Bloxburg. Tragically, in January 1860, he was murdered by an unknown assailant.

Glenn Sinatra Davis, Jr. was raised in Bay View in the post-war era. He was born on August 12, 1987. At the age of 12, he ventured into the mountains located behind his residence. While preparing to return indoors, he stumbled upon an object. This object turned out to be a 2-pound block of pure gold. He informed his mother, who subsequently alerted the police. Investigations revealed the existence of an entire mine rich in precious gems, including gold, silver, diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires. In 2002, mining operations commenced on the land, which was owned by the Davis family. This led to a legal dispute, resulting in a lawsuit. Ultimately, the court ruled that the mine was indeed the property of the Davis family. In 2009, Glenn established a multi-million-dollar enterprise known as Bolex Watches. He also entered into an agreement to allocate 45% of the crystals to the Bay View government for trade purposes, which significantly boosted the local economy.

Augustín Ford was born in Bay View on January 11, 1973. By the time he reached the 12th grade, he had achieved an IQ of 122. Utilizing his intellectual capabilities, he developed a compact device that enabled various functionalities, ultimately leading to the invention of the smartphone. In 2008, at the age of 35, he founded a company named Pearl, which encompassed products such as PearlPhone, PearlTV, PearlPad, PearlComputer, PearlPC, and PearlMedical. Within three years, he ascended to become the seventh richest individual in Robloxia, boasting a net worth of 146.9 billion ⏣ (equivalent to $11.7 billion).
