Barbie is a Robloxian franchise created by Robloxian Mattel Inc on March 9th, 1959; the line centers on Barbara Millicent Roberts, better known as Barbie.
History
The line of dolls, is based off a doll called Bild Lilli, which first debuted in 1953 as a 18+ symbol; one day in 1956 the creator of the Barbie doll went to a trip to Ro-Norway to get ideas for a new doll line, until she saw Bild Lillian, a doll made by a company called Bild; the creator of the doll, Ruth thought that the doll was for children but he insisted on making it for adults.
Trivia
- The character of Dorie was discontinued 2 times; she was introduced in 1999 as a friend to Stacie; the second youngest sister to Barbie and later became one of Kelly’s friends until Kelly was reintroduced as Chelsea in 2011. Even though Dorie was discontinued, she was re-introduced in 2014 as one of Skipper’s friends; she still has this position as Skipper’s friend to this day.
- One of the most controversial dolls in this doll line is the happy family Maggie doll, as parents and certain Robloxians thought that the doll was promoting teenage pregnancy. Another reason why it was also controversial it was because Maggie had no wedding ring; this doll was pulled off Megamart in 2003 and the doll got a redesign where Alex, Maggie’s husband, was featured in the package design.
