The AS Gas Station Shootout was a shooting that occurred on July 17, 2024. It was frequently believed to be the fallout (and thus, dependent on) of the 2024 Greenville shooting until that myth was busted on February 4, 2025.

Shooting

Around 1:30 PM, July 17th, 2024, a surveillance camera showed 20 year old Garry Wright and 20 year old Arris Goodwin walking around and shopping at AG Gas Station until a 21 year old De'Ante Cooper walked into the gas station, pulled out a Ruger SP101, and began shooting at Wright and Goodwin, as well as shooting three other people and leaving two people injured. He then began shooting at Wright and Goodwin.

As the two were being shot at, Wright pulled out a Ruger LCP with a drum clip attached with max bullets and began shooting back at Cooper, who dashed out the door and left the gas station. Wright ran towards the front of the gas station inside and began shooting at Cooper through the window, while Goodwin was trying to help the two injured people at the gas station. While Wright was shooting at Cooper through the window, Cooper was taking cover behind a car. A worker inside the gas station hid behind a counter, grabbed out a rifle, and began shooting at Wright and Cooper, leaving Wright injured in the leg and hand, and also leaving Cooper injured.

After Goodwin helped the injured people leave the gas station, Goodwin ran back inside the gas station and pulled out a Glock 19 with an extended clip and shot the worker that shot Wright. Cooper was still outside the gas station hiding behind a parked car. Cooper was about to get up and run towards his car to leave when Goodwin saw Cooper leaving. While Cooper was sitting in his car injured with his door open, Goodwin ran outside towards Cooper's car and shot him ten times, leaving him sitting in his car dead.

The police then arrived to the gas station after Goodwin shot Cooper. Goodwin began running inside the gas station and carried Wright towards the back exit of the gas station. As Goodwin was carrying Wright and attempting to leave, Officer Jackson began entering the gas station and started shooting at Wright and Goodwin. As Wright and Goodwin were being shot at, Goodwin dropped Wright and began shooting back at the police and was then shot and fell, and was then arrested. Wright attempted to leave as well but then was tackled and cuffed.

Aftermath

AG Gas Station Shootout Connection

It was revealed that this shootout had a connection to the Bloxmart Shootout that involved four heavily armed shooters, two who were being targeted and two who were the perpetrators that were after the two Targets. The two targeted heavily armed shooters were, David Wright Jr., and Dylan Martinez-Ouma. The two perpetrators that were after the targets were, Jerome Cooper Jr., and Ariel West. It was also revealed that De'Ante Cooper was actually the relative of Jerome Cooper Jr. and that, the four heavily armed shooters of Bloxmart knew somebody. Press requests to divulge who that somebody was were declined by the four heavily armed shooters for fears of the police executing him and thus making them have no idol to praise. it was also said that Wright and Martinez were armed and ready because they knew what was about to happen which was why they walked into bloxmart heavily armed.

Rumors

2024 Greenville Shooting Connection

A rumor spread about this shootout after the shootout, namely stating that the shootout was connected to the 2024 Greenville Shootings as the four heavily armed shooters of the Bloxmart Shootout knew the perpetrator of the 2024 Greenville Shootings, Benjamin S. Noah. However, in February 4, 2025, a peer reviewed journalist writing for the Greenville town newspaper interviewed the four heavily armed shooters. He also served as a fact-checking role, asking them whether the rumor was true. One of them said: "Where is Benjamin?". Another one of them said, "Who is Benjamin?". Yet another one said, "Why is Benjamin?", before the last of the heavily armed shooters laughed out loud and eventually rolled on their home's floor, laughing in what he later described as "figuratively laughing [his] ass off". While the fourth shooter was rolling on the floor, his firearm's auto-trigger went off and started to rapid fire corroded metallic spherical bullets that later would make significant dents on the home's walls. Luckily for the fact checker, he was not in the trajectory of the corroded metallic spherical bullets and the gun was at its last magazine, and thus, was able to leave the home unscathed. However, the wall of the home suffered from damage beyond repair and had to be replaced with a more durable iron wall. The journalist told the press the codeword bust, meaning that the myth that had spread through Greenville was false information.

Aftermath:

After the myth was busted, Robloxian social media started to add context to anything that described the gas station shootout that "[f]act checkers and journalists agree. This shooting is not to be confused with the 2024 Greenville Shooting". This was kept until the rumors died down on February 11, 2025.
