On December 31st, 2025, at 11:59 PM, the ball in River City started to drop, when an IED exploded in a van owned by the Retroslop Annihilation Federation near the middle of the crowd, killing 34 people, and Injuring 127.
The Attack
River City was holding its ball drop, one of the only ball drops in the state of Bloxburg Valley. Many retroslop registered for the event on River City Park to watch the ball drop, leading to the Retroslop Annihilation Federation to plan a terrorist attack in the River City Park as it saw a prime opportunity to kill and injure a lot of retroslop.
The event was being secured by River City Police and Bloxburg Valley Highway Patrol. However, the RAF managed to get a van inside the River City Park limits, with a bomb planted in it, and move it towards the middle of the crowd. The van driver and passengers pretended to be benevolent caterers, catering food to serve the retroslop with.
Two RCPD officers at the scene objected to the rest of the RCPD and Bloxburg Valley Highway Patrol to allow the car into the park premises, finding it suspicious and calling park security.
At 11:55 PM, the IED that was snuck into the van was set to detonate for five minutes, while the RAF passengers and driver rapidly abandoned the burner van and left the crime scene before leaving the park entirely. Meanwhile, the retroslop crowd was in the burner van and its proximity, trying to order food. In reality, there was no food in the entire van, but rather a IED. However, this realization occurred too late, and when the countdown began at ten seconds, the realization was drowned by the countdown.
The detonated explosion was so loud that nearby officers working for RCPD heard the explosion before seeing where the burner van was in flames and immediately radioed for the fire department of River City. All police officers at the scene were instructed to respond to the crime scene.
After the firefighters arrived, the firefighters put out the flames on the burner van, revealing it to be charred into a crisp. From the charred van, there was evidence that the attack was conducted by a anti-retroslop group, which led to the immediate deduction that it was from the Retroslop Annihilation Federation. After the scene was cleared, bodycam footage from the police officers were released to the public.
Suspects
The bombing was carried out by the Retroslop Annihilation Federation (RAF), a violent extremist anti-retroslop organization responsible for several attacks across Bloxburg Valley and against retroslop in general from February 20, 2025 to its shutdown on May 1, 2026. Investigators later concluded that the attack had been planned for several months and involved a small operational cell.
Authorities identified the primary suspects as:
- Victor Kane – Alleged operational leader of the attack.
- Marcus Hale – Suspected bomb maker and logistics coordinator.
- Ethan Cross – Driver of the fake catering van used to transport the improvised explosive device (IED).
- Dylan Mercer – Surveillance and communications coordinator.
- Noah Briggs – Escape driver who transported RAF members away from River City before the explosion.
The suspects were all booked in prison cells to serve sentences of unknown length, and on May 1, 2026, under the instruction of the Robloxian Armed Forces and Robloxian Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, were all executed. It is presumed from this information that they were possibly sentenced for at least 16 months for terrorist attacks.
