In the evening of July 21, 2023, a festival was being held for summer. Hundreds of Bloxburg citizens came to the event. Workers set up a wooden stage and a firework show. Before the show, a firework had been misplaced by staff. As soon as the clock struck midnight, fireworks were fired. Some went up in the air. Shortly after, the misplaced one was fired. It shot directly towards Bloxy Burgers and struck it. Within seconds, fire erupted, causing workers and customers to panic and run out. Some ran out with no injuries, but others were engulfed in flames. Paramedics and firefighters arrived and took out the fire. Paramedics took people with severe burn wounds to the hospital. In the end, two workers, the manager, and 16 customers died while the rest were severely injured. 24 were taken to Milton Hospital where they recovered or died from their wounds. Six people were pronounced dead at the scene and two died in the ambulance.
Aftermath
The Mayor of Bloxburg at that time, Coeptus, issued a statement saying that it was a tragedy. The manager of the event was sentenced for manslaughter, arson, and endangerment. He was sent to prison for 30 years, but while he was in prison, he passed away due to injuries. A new manager now managed the event and enforced firework safety. A temporary memorial was held for the victims at the site and a new rebranded location was opened in the same area.
