At 5:31 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, an explosion occurred at the Bloxy Burgers restaurant in downtown Bloxburg. The explosion, caused by a short circuit in one of the sockets, caused 3 deaths and 7 injuries.
Background
In the late afternoon of August 5, 2023, the Bloxy Burgers restaurant suffered an explosion, caused by a short circuit in an outlet. The explosion occurred in the kitchen, where the three victims of the explosion were. The restaurant had about 40 people inside the establishment, of which 33 were customers. All three people who died were employees. Four customers were injured. About 40 seconds after the explosion, a fire broke out.
Aftermath
After the end of the fire, the police interdicted the restaurant to start investigations and an inquiry was opened to determine the facts. On August 10, 2023, a first report was released and it was found that the accident was caused by a short circuit and that the last inspection of the site by the Fire Department had been in 2018, five years before the fact and four years after longer than the period defined by law, which defines that inspections must be carried out annually.
On August 14th, 2023, Bloxburg City officials confirmed that there would be a reconstruction of a new Bloxy Burgers restaurant in downtown Bloxburg. At the same time Bloxy Burgers Robloxia, the owner of the the branch, reported a loss of 24,000 robux worth of damage.
