The 2022 Rockford Tornado was a large, rain-wrapped and violent tornado that struck portions of Rockford in the late evening hours of August 15th, 2022. In all, 31 Robloxians died, along with 1,474 injuries, and R$1.13 trillion (2022 R$) in damages. Temperatures in Rockford were at 81 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Robloxia Weather Service issued a PDS tornado warning for Rockford, wording that it was an "EF5", and encouraged Robloxians to evacuate or seek immediate shelter. The tornado began near a road and headed right to downtown Rockford. 89-139 mph winds (EF1-EF3) were first observed in the damage path. It quickly then widened and strengthened to 171 mph (EF4). The tornado then weakened to 139 mph EF3, as it hit its first commercial area.
It then reached peak strength as a low-end EF5 (201 mph), as it barely dodged the downtown Rockford area. The tornado fluctuated between 114-171 miles per hour (EF2-EF4) as it hit four towns. The tornado rapidly weakened as it entered a small town. EF1 damage (89 mph) was observed. It dissipated two miles shy of another city.
The Robloxia Weather Service confirmed wind speeds of 201 MPH, and it reached 1.2 miles wide at its peak.
