Before
Centuries ago, on the East Coast of Robloxia, a seemingly normal day turned into a terrible disaster. Tsunami waves taller as mountains splashed onto the coast. Volcanoes unleash fiery meteors and lava floors onto the land.
In 1881, the Great Fault "activated". Tremors started to occur, volcanic activity grew larger, causing more eruptions and earthquakes.
The Robloxia Geological Survey said that a 10.0 earthquake may be somewhat impossible, but with the recent seismic activities of the East Robloxia fault, it is somewhat likely.
During
On one dark night on 19:55:55 Bloxington Sea Time on January 23rd, 2022, the entire Eastern Robloxia fault ruptured with a magnitude 10.0 (Mchikorita), making it the largest earthquake ever recorded since the magnitude 10.6 at Bloxy City on January 14th, 2022, 17:01:45. The hypocenter of the earthquake lies 87 miles off the east coast of Robloxia with a depth of 30 miles. In major cities, many Robloxians panicked when the earthquake struck, while many in the skyscrapers and other tall buildings thought that they were safe. Meanwhile, 76 miles offshore, the uplift of the seafloor due to the movement of the continental plate displaced a massive volume of water a standing wave just a few feet tall appears at the surface. It travelled west towards the east coast of Robloxia. About 3,667,443 Robloxians were killed by falling debris, collapsing structures, destroyed houses, ripped streets, and slammed skyscrapers, 158,489 from fires which burnt buildings to a crisp and darkened the sky with smoke, and 951 from landslides.
Tsunami
Shortly after the shaking stopped, waters within 1.2 miles (6.9 kilo-studs) started to re-fill as the first tsunami wave arrived with some places in the Bloxington coast being hit, essentially obliterated, in less than eight minutes. About 5,451,240 were killed by the tsunami. The tsunami had a wave height up to 198 studs (181.9ft) tall, which completely destroyed, essentially obliterated and hit, places in the Bloxington coast. Floodwaters of the tsunami wave penetrated so far that Robloxia looked different from space and even managed to penetrate the Bloxy Mountain Range, turning Amaxon to a temporary coastal city.
Meanwhile, in The Amazeman City, Titan Volcano erupted for the last time as a VEI 3, with pyroclastic clouds consuming the entirety of Amazeman City and causing an ash cloud that extended as far as ten miles or more from the volcano. Weak pyroclastic flows were generated by the explosion. Thin lava was formed by the explosion.
Aftermath
Local Emergency response agencies and hospitals were completely cut off in Eastern Robloxia, leaving Robloxians with little to no help at all. Most of the survivors in those places were in the same situation. In other parts of Robloxia, local emergency response teams were overwhelmed as the damage from the disaster had affected eastern Robloxia. Many parts of eastern Robloxia remain flooded by 6.5±1.5m (20.5±4.5ft or 23.2±5.4 studs) due to land subsidence caused by the earthquake, leaving many Robloxians stranded on top of buildings to wait for air support to arrive. Many states from around Robloxia sent emergency response teams to all states that had been affected by the disaster, with many of them primarily focused on assisting survivors in Eastern Robloxia, as these areas were the worst affected. Millions of Robloxians from Eastern Robloxia were forced to evacuate to other states for refuge. Recovery from this event is expected to take several decades.
Robloxia geologists found out that the downdip rupture width of this earthquake was 88 miles, the rupture area of this earthquake was 164,376 square miles, the surface rupture length was 2,765 miles, the subsurface rupture length was 1,920 miles, the average displacement was 401.1 feet, and the fault slip rate was 6.059 inches per year.
