The 2008 Titan Volcano Eruption was the first known eruption to occur on Titan Volcano, then known as Mount Amnoze because scientists thought the mountain was extinct. The eruption was categorized as Severe VEI 4. It began on September 24th and ran until September 26th, drenching The Amazeman City with hot lava, ash, pumice, and weak pyroclastic flows. Lava bombs were thrown for tens of meters. In addition, many blackouts and power outages occurred. In some cases, global temperatures were observed to have dropped by 0.2-0.3 degrees Fahrenheit post-eruption. Following the eruption, 8 people died, and 20 others were injured during the eruption. Damages once evaluations were completed totaled R$28B ( $70M ), which is normal for the area.
Pre-Eruption to Beginning
5 months ago, a powerful earthquake estimating over magnitude 6.5 rocked The Amazeman City. The tremors reached Titan Volcano. Some volcanologists say that this brought Titan Volcano back to life. It was felt 135 miles from the epicenter. Being one of the strongest quake in almost 16 years in The Amazeman City, it caught most Robloxians offguard. The earthquake caused a total of 65 billion ROBUX (2008 R$) of damage and killed 26 people. Most people thought that the worst was over. Little did they know that this was the dawn of the Titan Volcano. However, it was not included in the evaluations and the death toll.
On September 24, 2008, the Amazeman Geological Society have noticed that some activity begun on Titan Volcano. Later that day, a steam eruption was seen from Mount Amnoze. It was a weak VEI-0 eruption. The Amazeman City Mayor said,
If there are indications of a major eruption, we will let people evacuate from Mount Amnoze.
9 hours later, a small ash plume was seen around The Amazeman City and its neighboring cities. The ash was sent up to 10 kilometers from surface. However, it was not seen from space. The mayor ordered for an evacuation of the Robloxians nearby the volcano, which was issued 3 hours after. It was an alarming volcanic activity. The extinct volcanic mountain now has become a dangerous volcano as its activities are rising very fast. The eruption is now categorized as a Moderate VEI-2.
A second major eruption began 45 minutes after the plume, which was more violent this time. The eruption column began to rise higher than the first one. A state of emergency was issued on The Amazeman City as Titan Volcano erupts. It spewed ash throughout The Amazeman City and marked a larger phase at the time it erupted at that time, and its record of its highest eruption column of its latest activity until the Third Phase began. It was categorized as a Considerable VEI-3.
Falling ash was recorded on The Amazeman City region and its neighboring regions. The largest seismic activity was recorded when a Magnitude 3.5 rocked the volcano.
18 minutes after the second major eruption, a small Magnitude 4.9 earthquake shook the volcano and The Amazeman City following a huge steam smoke. It was a small eruption. The day was marked as the "Eruption of Titan Day". It also caused a medium-sized landslide when the activity began, which decreased the size of the mountain not significantly to affect height, which was measured to the feet.
Hundreds of thousands in The Amazeman City flee. Some chose to evacuate in neighboring cities and some chose to stay inside the disaster shelter. It was a deadly day. The mayor, which chose to stay inside the disaster shelter, called this the worst non-hurricane disaster to hit their city.
The eruption followed a hurricane which is near the coast of The Amazeman City. The hurricane neared Titan Volcano, making it a double disaster combination. Falling ash became more intense and lethal with a mixture of rain and mudflows came along after its eruption.
Then pyroclastic flow came. The pyroclastic flow's deposits have reached The Amazeman City, which resulted in at least 1 direct death. Falling ash has even affected The Amazeman City, which caused another direct death. A rare flash flood inside one of the Amazeman City's subway train occurred which filled half of the subway station. 10% of the water was mixed with ash from The Titan Volcano. The metro station was cleared 9 hours later. It was said later to be caused by a double disaster.
Even the Robloxian military evacuated. Some even reached a neighboring city. The volcano continues its eruption, 6 minutes later. The eruption halted into a magmatic eruption. The magmatic eruption started with a medium-sized 4.8 earthquake along with low level magmatic eruption which caused a landslide. The volcano won't stop erupting, even 6 minutes after.
The fourth phase of the eruption of Titan Volcano occurred shortly after its low level magmatic eruption. The eruption column reached 2.4 km. A magnitude 4.5 (aftershock of 4.8 earthquake) occurred and continued its eruption throughout the phase. With the fourth phase, the official preliminary phases of the major eruption has ended.
When the final phase eruption began, a cloud of ash was thrown 32 km into the atmosphere.
Early Warning Systems
The Amazeman City caught the eruption early.
Eruption
During the eruption, lava immediately began to flow from the volcano's crater in rivers, flowing quickly for a lava flow into nearby towns and cities such as The Amazeman City, causing 28 billion ROBUX in damages, mostly to the city, as they were choked by ash and buried by the lava flows. 6 people died from the final phase eruption, but 20 people got injured.
Post-Eruption to Aftermath
After the main eruption, there was a smaller eruption. The ash and smoke in the air made the global temperature drop by 0.2-0.3 degrees Fahrenheit.
In the aftermath of the eruption, as many as 405,000 people were made homeless, and 625,000 were left without a job, as the local population relied on farming to make their livings. The shortage of food therefore led to a famine, until aid reached the area 2 weeks later, ending the famine, and giving out food and water supplies to the stricken population, along with vaccinations for the area, as many people were suffering from dirty water related diseases. Aid was quickly given, and as a result, the death toll was kept incredibly low, at 8 dead. However, it was not remarkable because there was a warning prior to the eruption.
Effects on aviation
The eruption disrupted air traffic, causing one of the most interrupted air travel due to the volcano, with some reaching Bloxifornia due to some reports of sulfur dioxide and volcanic aerosol reaching Bloxifornia. Millions were affected by this type of air traffic interruption.
Effects on transportation
Due to heavy traffic during evacuation, the Government of The Amazeman City set up emergency evacuation airplanes and set up airplane evacuation routes.
