On May 19, 1998, Owen Welk would enter the Brookhaven Post office and quote on quote "go postal" He was a teenager who was being forced to work their by his dad which resulted in him taking it out on his dad by murdering him and then driving 2 miles to the Post Office to get revenge on his boss and people who were rude to him.
Backstory.
Owen Welk born (May 20, 1981) was a American teenager who went to the Brookhaven High School, he would never end up graduating due to the massacre and his friends described him as an "Tech Nerd" and also a "Music Professional" he was said to be listening to Oof! on the way to the Post Office. In 1997 he was arrested for being caught underage drinking with his friends in a field, this was only found out once they ransacked a police station but he stayed behind clearly drunk, the police would find him and ask him if he knew what was going on, he would then get arrested for underage drinking. His dad did not bail him out but instead let him wait a year there. He was put on probation from January to March for breaking his dad's arm by pushing him down a tall flight of stairs.
He was finally released, after this he would acquire guns from his friends house for the murder of his dad (which would evolve into the shooting) his friend Eli Jansen would give him a modified M4A1 and also a Sawed-Off Shotgun. He would record a tape with his friends detailing gun safety for a school project. The tape has been partially released but it is in bad quality, it is ironic how he was talking about gun safety holding the same weapons he used to kill his dad and many others and even law enforcement.
