The 1989 Light Orion City was a magnitude 4.6 earthquake that struck Orion City on August 24 at a depth of 7.861 miles. The earthquake caused 87 injuries, 15 deaths, light damage, but no landslide. The shock had a maximum intensity of VI (Strong). During this time, the Royal Serenade was docked at Orion City. There were approximately 132 passengers on the island at the time of the 4.6 magnitude earthquake. The survivors were rushed safely back on to the ship. The ship stayed docked for 2 weeks to help find missing passengers and for the injured passengers to recover.
