The 1940 Mt. Baszucki Eruption was the first known modern eruption to occur from Mt. Baszucki, located on its own island 3 miles west from Bloxington Island. The eruption was categorized as VEI 2 Moderate. Estimated reports of when the eruption began range from 3 to 8 AM on January 3, 1940. Lava and hot blocks were generated and shot out from multiple angles at varying velocity. In addition, the eruption of this volcano could be heard from Bloxington Island. The volcano released smog that would later cover and pollute the atmosphere of western Robloxia. Some of the smog was able to make it to Eastern Robloxia. The volcano caused an ash cloud that expanded to over 15 miles in diameter. From this eruption, no initial damages or deaths were reported however fireballs and the billions of studs of smog, smoke, and ash, killed thousands of Robloxians by causing disease, and caused weather problems related to low sun exposure for 4 months after the eruption.
