For those of you who don't know what a Complete Monster is, allow me to explain. According to a number of websites, a Complete Monster is a character that is pure evil. The Villains Wiki lists these as the following signs (paraphrased):

- The acts they commit are atrocious by the story's standards, and they have crossed the line where you lose any sympathy for them.
- Other characters react to them in fear, revulsion, or hatred.
- They are never put in a positive light.
- They have no justification for their crimes, they are incapable of feeling empathy, and they are unable or unwilling to achieve redemption.

One villain in this show that I'm convinced qualifies as this is Jerry Grant.

He never treated his son with any love or respect, and when he did, it was only because it got him something in return. Then there's the fact that he crossed the line when he drunkenly raped Mellie, and there's a possibility that the Fitz's first-born son might actually be his. Just about everyone who knew him (Fitz and Mellie) hated his guts, with Mellie referring to him as a monster. There is nothing positive that you can attach to the guy. Apart from claiming that his father physically abused him, he has no real justification for his crimes. He certainly displayed a lack of empathy when he displayed only annoyance at the people who lost their lives in Operation Remington and seeing it only as an inconvenient mess to clean up after his son. Redemption is totally not possible for this guy. He died of a heart attack off-screen years ago. Despite the fact that he only appeared twice in flashbacks, he caused a significant amount of damage. Lots of bad things, like Defiance, Operation Remington, and the dysfunction between Fitz and Mellie can be traced right back to this man.
