The Princess is the ex-wife of The King and the mother of The King's Son. At some point prior to his ascension to the throne in the mid 1990s, she divorced The King and became the primary caretaker of their son. Over the years, she developed a friendship with Prime Minister Francis Urquhart who she viewed as a mentor of sorts. When The King ascended to the throne and challenged Prime Minister Urquhart, he leveraged his relationship with the Princess, striking a deal with her that once the King was forced to abdicate, their son would take his place on the throne. This promise was fulfilled in 1997 and her son remains the reigning Monarch of the United Kingdom to this day.
